Something that became part of my skin regimen is going for professional facials which do help a lot with maintaining clear glowing skin. You’re probably asking yourself…”What are professional facials?” So, here’s some clarity, the purpose of a facial is to do a deep clean on your face. It’s essential because your skin gets cleansed, exfoliated, even extractions if needed, followed by a serum, moisturizer, and SPF.
Facials give you a clean hydrated feel and it’s super good for your skin. It also helps you look younger.
You’re also probably wondering how often you should get one. To not harm or irritate your skin you are supposed to get them once a month since there’s a 28-day period for cells to turnover depending on your age. I do facials on a ”do I need it basis?” since there are extractions included and depending on the condition of my skin and my wallet since they’re a bit pricey it can add up if you do it regularly. But that’s why I do my treatments weekly. The reason why I do it like this is that my skin can get irritated easily and sometimes, I like to do my own thing because I know exactly what I’m using and do it my way as long as I know what I’m doing because you don’t want to harm your skin.
I will list a step by step of my current skin regimen
Step 1: Cleanse my skin with a cleanser
Step 2: Dry the face and apply a toner (balances ph levels)
Step 3: Apply a serum
Step 4: Once the serum is absorbed, apply moisturizer.
Step 5: Follow with eye cream
Step 6: Apply SPF (not necessary for nighttime routine)
Step 6: Mist (optional)
My once a week routine which I do when I skip going for a professional facial is below
Step 1: Cleanse my skin with a cleanser
Step 2: Exfoliate
Step 3: Mask (It can be any kind of mask you like, I alternate between hydrating ones, ones the clear your pores and tighten them. It depends on what your skin needs)
Step 4: Dry the face and apply a toner
Step 3: Apply a serum
Step 4: Once the serum is absorbed, apply moisturizer.
Step 5: Follow with eye cream
Step 6: Apply SPF (not necessary for nighttime routine)
Step 6: Mist (optional)
I use an acne spot treatment Kate Somerville Eradikate Acne treatment (pink lotion) link here which I apply as the last step on top of all the products mentioned above and let me tell you it does wonder! I am very satisfied with the product, it’s so good that even my bf uses it whenever a pimple shows up on his face. However, I didn’t use any acne creams because I was traumatized by how dry and irritated my skin got when using those products. I got rid of my acne problem and focused on getting rid of my acne scars. Also, with the acne spot treatment, it works great on blemishes or pimples and one by one they just disappear, the stubborn ones take at least 2-3 days. So, if you want healthy glowing skin to nourish your skin with good nutrients and make sure to always keep it hydrated.
